Massive Roadshow Rally in Bengaluru ahead of Karnataka Assembly Polls

A massive 26-kilometre roadshow on Saturday, the 6th of May, four days before the Assembly polls in Karnataka, was held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accompanied by Tejasvi Surya MP-Bengaluru South , and PC Mohan MP-Bengaluru Central .

PM Modi, standing on a specially designed vehicle, greeted the enthusiastic crowd lined up on both sides of the route, chanting 'Modi, Modi', 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai,' and 'Jai Bajrangbali' and showering flowers. Thus, to reciprocate the act of affection by the crowds, PM Modi showered the flowers back on them. ‘Pourakarmikas’ (civic workers) and several other cultural teams were gathered at different spots to greet the Prime Minister.

Starting from Someshwar Bhavan RBI Ground, Bengaluru South, to Malleshwaram’s Sankey Tank and traversing through parts of south and central Bengaluru, touching about a dozen Assembly segments, the roadshow was covered in about three hours.

Several arrangements were made for the roadshow to take place without any hindrance, which included barricades and tight security. The entire route was filled with saffron colour, as either side of the road was plastered with BJP flags, and, at several spots, even saffron flags which had Lord Hanuman’s face printed on them. The party workers and supporters blended with the saffron colour and displayed their support for the party by wearing saffron shawls and caps.

The rally was earlier scheduled to be an eight-hour-long roadshow only on Saturday but was later split into two parts, taking into consideration the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The second roadshow, on 7 May, Sunday, was a shorter one, covering 10 km, and was conducted between the Kempegowda Statue in Thippasandra and Trinity Circle.
